Provincial Capitol of Camarines Norte

For most of its history, the province of Camarines Norte have looked upon its Provincial Capitol for direction and support, and it has become an important institution to the everyday lives of the people. The Provincial Capitol of Camarines Norte is one of the most beautiful provincial capitols in the entire country. Reconstructed from 1986-1995, it provides a permanent seat for the Provincial Government of Camarines Norte. The structure, a landmark in itself, is reputed to be the most poshly constructed provincial government in the Bicol Region. The Doric-like facade of the building is propped up by twelve columns symbolic of the twelve towns of the province.

On the Job Training

OJT Experience at Accounting Office, April 18-May 30, 2017

1st week

1st week at pgcn accounting department, i was introduced to the employees that were going to be my bosses through 6 weeks of on the job training. they were all welcoming and kind. i was then assigned to my work place in front of a computer to encode summaries of expenditures, MOOE and capital outlay. it was hard at first because, you know, excel. the numbers had to be consistent because each data had to be linked to each offices for transparency, good thing someone from the office was there to guide me. days gone by and i was starting to grasp the system and did it faster than usual. I was still accomplishing my memorandum of agreement from time to time. to my disappointment, my MOA was denied by the legal adviser so, I revised it and started from trying to make it signed. it took weeks before the Governor got to sign it.

2nd week

2nd week. papers started to pile in front of my table that wait to be encoded. sometimes, this happens when the provincial accountant is on leave or official travel. so, while she is gone, whenever i was free, i came to assist the receiving area to deliver documents like vouchers, cheques and other documents that need to be corrected or advised by the offices' head officer. it was exhausting because the whole building was huge and affices are far from each other but it was my free time in front of the computer so it was my chance to stretch it out and burn some fat.

3rd week

3rd week came by and i heard someone from the office was celebrating her birthday so everyone was excited. i then realized it was about the free lunch. i was counted so, i took it as incentive for myself for the hard work (LOL). the head of our office came back from official travel and papers continued to come out from her office. another batch of documents that need to be encoded. back to business.

4th week

4th week. there were students from our local colleges who worked as SPES, i dont know what that means but they were a big help. work loads were divided, i started to feel a little bit of rest from all the work from the past weeks. we got along well, worked together without hesitation. it was a good working environment for us because we were exposed to the reality that there is no easy job if you want to earn. you need to work hard for it.

5th week

The time i spent working, not only in the Accounting Office but the PGCN as a whole earned me a lot of friends. people from various offices started to recognize me as the bad news bringer because I was one of the trainees that took papers that need corrections out from the office. it was a nice ice breaker as i wait for them to finish signing the log as proof of reception. there were times where i doubted if i could really do it through 240 hours of training but days passed so fast due to loaded hours working so, it's not much of a bummer. its the 5th week and the next thing i know, i need to get my papers done because there's only a week and a day or two to go and i dont got much time to be stagnant.

Final week

It was the last week where sir Aris, one of the higher position officer in the Accounting department promised me and my comrades a treat at the end of the month for completing the tasks given to us fast and efficient. it was satisfying to know but Ididnt have the chance to join their lunch date because I took time to rest my tired body at home. It felt good to have accomplished something as hard as that and to have spent my summer with a worthwhile experience that i can get back to when the time comes. I thank the employees that taught and guided me through stuffs i didnt know and helped me get through 240 hour of On-the-Job Training.
